The 2012
Trash ‘Can’ Film Festival
In effort to promote and educate youth and the community on reducing, reusing and recycling, the Authority is asking area students to create an original short “film” for the second annual Trash ‘Can’ Film Festival.
In these short “films” students will be asked to illustrate how they do their part for the environment, whether it’s on a personal level, through family effort, school, neighborhood, or community. The film must also instruct others how easy it is to do their part by reducing, reusing and recycling. Students can choose to depict any of the Authority's programs in the video as well. The Authority's website can be a great resource in helping create the film (www.ohswa.org).
Submitted films will be posted on OHSWA’s RecycleOne website, YouTube Channel and corporate social media outlets. First, second and third place winners in three (3) categories will be awarded prizes.
We encourage all students to submit a film that recognizes the importance of recycling and "going green." It is our wish that through this project our community will gain a greater understanding of how to reduce, reuse and recycle in Oneida and Herkimer Counties through action and awareness.
